STUDENT INBOUND PRESENTATION

Makassar, June 13, 2025 – The Faculty of Forestry at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) hosted a presentation of the industrial internship results of Adillah Sofiah, a student from Universiti Teknologi MARA Cawangan Negeri Sembilan (UiTMCNS). This event serves as evidence of the academic collaboration between the two institutions in the development of sustainable forestry technology.

The presentation, held in the Senate Room of the Faculty of Forestry at Unhas, showcased Adillah’s research findings and academic activities during her internship at Unhas. The presentation covered various projects she undertook, including the development of cutting-edge technology for the sustainable utilization of forest resources. The event concluded with an interactive discussion session attended by academics and researchers from both universities.

As part of the internship program, Adillah also participated in various research activities at the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, including a visit to the Karst Microbe Laboratory at the Unhas Research and Community Service Center (LPPM). There, she had the opportunity to study the latest research on unique microorganisms in karst ecosystems. “The internship experience at Unhas was very valuable, especially in understanding the application of forestry biotechnology and the potential of Indonesia’s biodiversity,” said Adillah.

The event was attended by several experts, including Dr. Noor Azrimi from UiTMCNS, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Forestry at Unhas Dr. Syahidah, and Prof. Siti Halimah Larekeng, Head of the Forestry Engineering Program. Also present were the Head of the Forestry Faculty Laboratory and research team members from LPPM Unhas.

According to Prof. Dr. Ir. Siti Halimah, SP., MP., this internship program strengthens the relationship between Unhas and UiTMCNS. “We are committed to expanding international collaboration, particularly in biodiversity research and forestry technology,” she explained. Follow-up plans include student exchanges, collaborative research, and joint scientific publications.

The Faculty of Forestry at Unhas continues to strengthen its international network, and this internship program is expected to serve as the first step toward broader collaboration with various universities in Southeast Asia.
